The art of persuasion

Copywriting is an art, not a science. There are no magic formulas that will tell how to get it right each and every time. However, there are principles you can follow. With practise and direction, your writing can become much more persuasive.

I joined an advertising agency as a copywriter many years ago – and the weird thing was, I did not know how to write. I’d been to college, I had a degree, so I knew how to write essays but not ad copy. I had to learn by trial and error with senior copywriters and Creative Directors to give me direction. Years down the track and now I’m the one handing out advice.
